Kill Your Fears

Kill Your Fears

It feels like just a few years ago that I was living with roomates and I was flat broke and miserable. I had just started my business Fortune Spark and even though I was excited about being my own boss, I quickly started falling into a dark well. To get from point A to point B, I decided to purchase a $300 car online from craigslist. The car had bad brakes, bad transmission, no AC, no heater, and only 2 of the 4 windows worked. Everytime I pulled up to a red light, I literally had to use the emergency brake just to stop the car. The car was in such a bad condition that it didn’t pass state inspection and I had to put on fake paper tags. I ended up getting pulled over and the officer told me that the car was illegally registered and he had to take me to jail. Luckily my wife-to-be (she was just a friend back then) bailed me out.

Sometimes in life we will face tough and nasty challenges which will usually create FEAR. We will go through miserable seasons in life. It could be in finances, health, marriage, education, career and so on. The most important thing you should always remember is that FEAR is just an illusion and the more you feed it, the more it will grow and aggressively become a reality. “IT DOES NOT RAIN EVERYDAY”! Sorrows may last for the night but Joy and sunshine will always come in the morning. The difference between average folks and GREAT people is that, average folks simply wait out the dark and FEARFUL times and hope and pray for the sun to shine, while GREAT PEOPLE work, fight, and face their fears. Some even go as far as to MAKE THEIR OWN SUN SHINE! A great mentor of mine said, “Don’t run away from your Goliath, but run towards him and cut his head off”. I had to challenge myself to become better and become GREAT in life. I decided to face my fears of being broke, living from house to house, having bad habits and so on.

Some of the simple steps I took was by changing my circle of friends, surrounding myself with positive people, and practicing good habits. I decided to KILL MY FEARS. They have never returned, and I am now living my dreams. Remember this, that what you feed will grow. Feed your faith, and starve your fears. Watch out for my upcoming book “Ignite Your Future” to get more tips on killing your fears.
